14 Month Old Update

Well...it's hard to believe that time keeps on flying by.  Before we know it Maddie will be graduating from college.  I am cherishing every moment with her.  I love my days off because it's our special time.  When daddy's out of town...she sleeps with me.  I know, I know...but she is already spoiled so why does it matter.  I know that I sound like a recording...but Maddie still does NOT have any teeth.  We are really starting to get worried.  However many events have occurred that have lead us to believe that THEY ARE COMING SOON!  First off the consistency of her poops have changed.  Second, the quantity of drool has increased and lastly she always wants to be sucking on something (whether it is a passie, blanket, or hand.)  One day.  I have not given up hope just yet.  Maddie has also turned into Humpty Dumpy.  She is now walking all over the place.  However, she seems to fall almost on a daily basis.  Two weeks ago, while I was at work, I received a call from Kris.  Maddie had been standing up in our bed and fell head first into our wooden headboard.   I am at work and on the other end of the phone line I hear my poor little munchkin screaming bloody murder.  I was so busy at work too.  Then about 30 minutes later, she started vomiting.  Just lovely.  So of course Kris took her into the pediatrician.  They arrived at the office and she vomited again all over the waiting room and Kris.  Dr. Vickie gave Maddie a prescription for Zofran and ordered a cat scan.  Kris came to Target to get the Zofran so I was able to see Maddie for just a few moments.  She looked so bad.  She had also just vomited again in the car.  Mom had come up that day to help me with the garage sale (since I had to work) so she went along for support.  Try being at work while your child has to go and get a cat scan.  All I could think about was my precious baby.  I had made a call to the pharmacy scheduler to see if there was any extra help anywhere and of course there was not.  Then to my surprise another Target pharmacist showed up to relieve me.  Our pharmacy operations leader had called and told me that no matter what happened (even if everything was ok) I needed to go home and be with my child.  WOW.  The last place that I worked (no names mentioned of course) would NEVER in a billion years have told me that.  In fact when I was pregnant with Maddie and had horrible pains in my back I called out telling them that I was going to have to go to the hospital...their response was, "well...I guess we are going to have to close your store down then."  Well to make a long story short....Maddie's cat scan was normal.  THANK GOD!  When I arrived home my munchkin looked so drained.  She was not even the same baby.  She was still vomiting when I got home.  Kris was walking around in just shorts because every time he got a new shirt on...she vomited on it.  Maddie was back to her old self a couple of days later.  But, back to my main point.....she falls all the time.  She fell flat on her face and cut her upper gum.  She tripped and hit her head on our dresser and later that same day...I ran upstairs to take up the laundry basket, came right back down stairs and she had another bump on her head.  Back in February when she rolled off the couch onto the hardwood floor, we joked that when she gets a C in math...we will know why.  Well now we are down to an F.  Maddie is still not saying words, but she sure does a lot of babbling.  It's pretty cute.  She also sings along with the theme song from Sesame Street, her favorite show.  We have just had the best time with her over the past couple of months.  She is so much fun.  This past week, I bought her some squeaky shoes.  They are so funny.  With every step, they squeak.  She laughs so hard while wearing her shoes.  It's so cute.  Since she is really walking now, she is ALL over the place.  If you dare leave the baby gate to the stairs open, 10 seconds later, she's at the top.  We have to watch her like a hawk.  But, like I said...she's amazing!!!!!
