March Madness

Maddie will be 8 months in a couple of days. Her personality is developing more & more each day. There are no teeth yet, but as you can see in the pictures, she sure is drooling. Kris & I joke that she looks like the dog from the movie Turner and Hooch. She is a drooling queen. Her face is wet along with her hands & her outfits. I lifted her up above my head the other day & drool went right in my eye. Maddie is learning to talk. Her first word was DA! At first she could only say DA (not DA DA). She would say it extremely loud. Now all she says is DA DA. It's pretty cute. A conversation between myself & Maddie is kind of like that Pampers commercial where the Dad is putting on his baby's diaper & the Dad is trying to get his baby to say Da Da. The baby just says Momma. I laugh everytime I see it on TV. I am constantly saying to Maddie, "say Momma." What comes out. You guessed it.....Da Da. So I say no "Momma". And again she says Da Da. Oh well.

My hands are ALWAYS in my mouth!

I went today to get Maddie up from her nap & she just looked so cute I had to capture the moment!

Peek-a-boo Momma

Maddie's nose has turned orange. We think it is from all the carrotts, squash, & peaches that she eats. I am not sure the medical reason behind this, but she sure does look funny.

Maddie has grown extra attached to Kris. At night when she cranky, he's the one that stops her crying. She loves her Daddy & wants to be held by him.

Happy Easter. Kris & I gave Maddie a yellow chick for her first Easter. She really liked it. She spent the day with Daddy, Grammie, & Grandpie until I got home from work around 7 pm. We then had a great Easter dinner. Maddie even had some mashed potatoes.

Maddie loves swimming with Momma in the big tub. We both get in there together at night & play with her toys. She loves swimming around in the big tub. I tell her to kick & she'll kick the water & splash all around. We can't wait til this summer when we can go to the pool!

Let's see how it looks on Grandpie

Looks pretty silly!

Maddie got a walker for Easter from her Grammie & Grandpie. At first she did not really get it. But now she is starting to walk around the kitchen & living room. Go go speed racer!

Nanny & Poppy dropped by & brought Maddie a giant bunny for Easter.

Our Exciting Week With Family

Emily arrived from New York to come & visit with her family. It was great for Maddie to get to spend some time with her "Aunt Beana". Maddie is extremely found of Emily & took right to her. They laughed & played like old pals.

On Saturday night everyone came to the house for a get together. The large crowd included: David & Charlotte, Tom & Diane, Ma, Emily & John, Aunt Brenda, & Suzie, Jared & Sam. We cooked out & had a great time. This is one of the first interactions between Maddie & Charlotte.

Tom decided that he wanted a picture of himself with his 2 granddaughters or shall I say 2 wiggleworms. After a couple of pictures...we gave up.

We tried to get some cute pics of Maddie & her cousin Sam. Maddie's new thing is that when the flash goes off, she closes her eyes. I have to take millions of pics until & get a great one with her smiling & her eyes open.

Here we added Charlotte to the picture. She did not want any part of these pictures. She screamed! I love Maddie's face as she wonders why Charlotte is crying.

Maddie said, "Ok now it's my turn to throw a fit!"

I know that this is a gross picture, but it is the highlight of our day. Everytime we turn around Maddie is spitting up. People make fun of me for my shopping addiction for Maddie. If I did not have so many clothes for her the child would have to go around naked because she ruins so many outfits daily & I can't do the laundry fast enough. Not only does she get herself....she also gets anyone else in her path. We do SO much laundry!

Grandpappa was holding Maddie in one arm & his beer bottle in the other. She went right for it. We all thought it was so funny. This has all come about because a couple of weeks ago I gave her some ice water out of my glass & she went nuts. She loved it. So now she grabs for whatever is close by.

Maddie got to spend some time with her Grammie when she came up for a couple of days before proceeding to TN. We had a great time. She loves her Grammie. She has Grammie wrapped around her little finger. She knows that if she cries in the middle of the night....Grammie after exhausting all methods, will finally give in and give her a bottle.

7 Month Update......

Maddie is now 7 months old. It is amazing just how quickly time flies. I know I sound like a broken record but she really does get cuter & cuter everyday. She has the best personality. She is giggling & laughing (primarily at her Daddy) now all the time. I am not sure how much she weighs since Grammie took her to the doctor last (& she can't remember...she thinks it was around 17 lbs.) She brightens our world each & everyday! She has now learned to sit on her own. Sometimes she can sit for a long time...other times, she topples right over. The trick is to spread her legs far apart to allow her to balance. She loves this new found freedom of sitting up. She hasn't attempted crawling yet. The other day I put her on her belly & stuck a toy in front of her, just out of reach. She looked like she was trying to surf. Her arms were moving at full speed & her legs were kicking. We'll work on that later!

This past weekend Shannon came to visit & meet Maddie for the first time. We had such a wonderful time & Maddie just loved "Aunt Shannie."

This past weekend we went to David & Jen's house to celebrate Charlotte's first birthday. This is a picture of Charlotte with her birthday cake. She did not know what to think of it! It was pretty cute.

Maddie looking on at Charlotte & her cake. I think that she was thinking..."If your'e not going to eat that, I'll take it!"

Her outfit says it all!
