Happy Birthday Daddy!

First Meetings

After a long wait....my toy finally arrived yesterday!!!   I ordered a BlackMagic Video Recorder.  This is the coolest device that allows me to take any video and make it digital to put on my Mac.  So I was able to finally import Maddie's early video to digital video!  Hope you enjoy the old footage.  She was so tiny!!!!! 

18 Month Update

Maddie turned 18 months this past week.  She spent the week fighting an upper respiratory infection.  She was not as sick as she was in November thank goodness.  Then to top it all off, she got a new tooth on Saturday.  She now has 7 teeth.  It was a rough day.  She cried for several straight hours.  Once the ibuprofen kicked in, she was much better.  We went to the doctor on Friday and here are Maddie's stats:  she weighs 24 pounds, 1 ounce; 50 percentile for weight; 31 1/2 inches tall; 50 percentile for height; and 60 percentile for her head.  Maddie's vocabulary is growing on a daily basis.  Her favorite words include:  purple, baby, no, wow (she whispers wow), tank-u (thank you); Grampie; blue; three; sticky; cheese; pease (please); utt ooooh; juice; ball; and car.   Today the word of the day was no.  Here's how it was used:  "Maddie, do you want some juice?"  Answer:  "NOOOOOO!";  "Maddie, do you want a bite of cake?"  Answer:  "NOOOOOOOO!;  "Maddie, are you ready to take a nap?"  Answer:  "NOOOOOOOOOOO!".  It was pretty cute.  Her favorite song is the Alphabet song.  She starts singing along and you will actually hear her say some of the letters in the right spots.  She loves any kind of ball.  I got her pack of mini balls from Target that includes a football, basketball, softball, and soccer ball.  She loves playing with them.   Maddie loves to brush her teeth.  When she is done, she even knows to rinse her brush under the water.  If you ask her how she brushes her teeth she will show you by pretending to brush her teeth.  We are just amazed with how much she knows and understands.  Her favorite show is still Sesame Street however I recently purchased the first season of the Muppet Show and she loves it too.
