Butterfly Kisses

Maddie was a beautiful monarch butterfly for Halloween.  I had originally wanted her to be a bumblebee.  I found the cutest costume from Gymboree.  Of course I waited too late and they no longer had the black and yellow striped tights that made the costume.  I was so disappointed.  Then I found this costume on the internet.  It is the cutest thing that I have ever seen.  Maddie looked so cute.  I was pretty surprised that she did not try to take the head portion off.  When I put her in her costume, I put her in front of the mirror so she could see just how cute she was.  She laughed.  Edie, Mason, and Karli came over and all of us (and Karl) went to the fall festival at their church.  Maddie had a good time watching all of the other kids.  While we were there, she spotted a piano.  She could barely reach the keys, but that did not stop her from playing.  We had a good time.  When we got home, we still even had some trick or treaters.

Playing With The Kitties

Maddie loves to play with the kitties.  When we let them out on the porch, she will sometimes cry at the door because she wants to go out and play with them.  She loves to hug, squeeze, and even pull out their hair.  Just recently she has learned how to brush them...needless to say...she's their new best friend since she discovered the brush.

TEETH!!!! Or Shall We Say Tooth

Ok...so I am so disappointed with this picture.  With my camera, I could zoom in and see Maddie's newly cut tooth.  However, when I loaded the picture to my computer, I wanted to zoom in and crop it.  I could not figure out how to do that with my Mac.  AHHHHH!  Well, finally the day arrived.  I have been waiting for 9 months now to write this in the blog.  Maddie has teeth!!!!  Well actually just one tooth.  It's her bottom middle left one.  She finally cut one.  She is also trying really hard to cut 4 on top.  Needless to say, she has NOT been a happy camper.  She is in a LOT of pain.  Since I have started the Tylenol/Motrin rotation, she has definitely improved.  Last week, Maddie was called to go to Carter's in Atlanta to try out to be a "fit model."  When it was Maddie's turn, we entered the room and they immediately started measuring her from head to toe.  They got out their tape measure and measured the length of her arms, her inseam, the length of her legs, the circumference of her head, etc.  She did NOT like the tape measure.  I think that she thought she was at the Pediatrician's office.  Anyways, she started screaming.  I thought...so much for that.  The next day I got a call and she had made it.  She was the right size.  So basically she was a mannequin.  She tried on a pair of pants to make sure that they were the right fit.  I was not able to take her so Grammie came up from Savannah to take her.  She was quite a hit!

Grandpappa, Mimi, and Ma came over for dinner.  Maddie had a great time showing them her "squeaky" shoes!

No More Bows Momma!

Maddie has decided that she no longer wants to wear bows in her hair.  The second that I put them in her hair....she immediately takes them out.  It is very frustrating.  Especially because they look so cute in her hair.  When I was shooting these pictures, I kept putting the bow back in her hair...then I finally gave up.

So cute!!!

Fun At Cagle's Dairy Farm

Today Maddie and I went with Allison and Lucy to Cagle's Dairy Farm in Hickory Flat.  It was so much fun.  We started with taking pictures with the pumpkins.  Maddie and Lucy loved all the pumpkins.  Lucy thought the hay tasted good too.  Luckily Maddie did not eat any thing off the ground.  We then went to the milking demonstration.  It brought back horrible memories of pumping!  We then proceeded to see how they bottled the milk.  Pretty cool.  After that we went on a hay ride pulled by a giant tractor.  Maddie was so good and sat in my lap the whole time.  The coolest part of the hay ride was when the farm dog lead all of the cows in the pasture to the wagon.  They came running full speed then stopped right in front of the wagon.  Maddie really enjoyed the cows.  Afterwards, we got to see the pigs race.  Their reward was Cagle's chocolate milk.  I would run for the milk too.  It's wonderful and I do not like milk.  We then got to feed the goats.  Just seeing the joy on Maddie's face made it all worth wild.  I know longer thought about how difficult it was to carry a child while attempting to take pictures AND video and carry 2 bags on your back.  It no longer mattered.  It was all worth it.  We had thought that maybe Maddie would become a dentist someday due to her fascination of teeth (probably because she has none) however, she LOVES animals.  Cats, dogs, goats, pigs, and cows.  Maybe she'll be a vet.  Who knows.  It's just fun to imagine.  After the goats, we went into the calf barn.  We got to feed them too.  My favorite part was when Maddie got really close to this one calf and it like her face.  It scared her and she started crying.  I was unable to capture the moment.  I probably should not think that this was funny...but it was hysterical!  She got over her fear of being licked and continued to play and feed them.  What a day.  I cannot wait to go back.

Two seconds later, Maddie got closer to this calf and then it licked her face.  She started screaming.  It was pretty funny.
