Raspberry Kisses

Tonight at dinner Maddie started blowing raspberry kisses. It was so funny! I quickly grabbed the video camera to capture the moment. I had a hard time focusing the camera because I was laughing!

I just could not resist this cute little bathing suit. We went to Lake Oconee Memorial Day weekend to see Nanny & Poppy. We had a blast. Maddie played on the man made beach in the sand until it started raining.

I have been putting Maddie in the "crawling position." After a minute or so she pulls her legs out from under her & she bottoms out. She is staying up longer & longer.

Our "Model" Baby

This is Maddie in her new buggy car. She loves to be pushed around the neighborhood & the house in it. So when I titled this blog our model baby I meant it literally. Maddie is now a professional model! She got into the biz about two weeks ago. Kris & I were on our way to our favorite Mexican restaurant when we stopped into a store next door. The lady that worked there also works part-time for a modeling Agency. She took one look at Maddie & went crazy. She said that she was so beautiful & that I had to submit her picture to become one of their clients. So the next day I returned to her shop with pictures of Maddie. She said that we'd probably hear something soon. Well we did! Yesterday morning Maddie's agency called & Macy's wanted her for a photo shoot for this morning. I was so bummed when I realized that I could not go because I had to work...so Kris took her. When she arrived to the photo shoot, she went straight to the hair & make-up room. They sat her down next to a Brazilian model who was on last month's cover of Vogue magazine. With her heavy accent she complimented Kris on what a beautiful baby he had. The hairstylist then took out a massive hairbrush & brushed Maddie's little tuft of hair as the Brazilian model was getting her hair done. Next came the shoot. The photographer & others said that she was amazing. They said they got the shot. She was modeling a red & white sun dress. The picture is going to be in the AJC in June!!! Needless to say....we are proud parents.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mother's out there. No one can ever know how it feels to truly be a mother until they are one. It's a love that can't be put into words. You realize that before your child, your life was empty & incomplete. When Maddie giggles it brings tears of joy to me. When she kisses my cheek, my heart skips a beat. When her face lights up with joy, I melt. I am the luckiest mom ever. Being a mom is truly a gift from God!

Fixing up the yard

Here is our new yard. We worked really hard throughout the week planting & replanting. It's hard when you have a baby. Maddie would only stay out on the porch in her bouncer for so long. Kris is very proud of "his yard."

Today the River Green pool opened up. We took Maddie after her 2½ hour nap. We all had a great time. Despite the cold water, Maddie loved it. She sat in the water for the longest time playing with her toys. After swimming, we got out of the water & sun bathed. I bought a sun dome for Maddie. She sat in there & played with some of her toys. When we first arrived we were the only ones there. Then 3 o'clock came. It was as though the school bus let out at the pool. There must have been 40 kids there by the time that we left. 9 Months Old!

Maddie is now 9 months old! We went to see Dr. Vickie yestorday & Maddie is weighing in at 18 lbs. 7 ounces. & 27¼ inches long. Both Kris & I were shocked since we thought she atleast weighed 20 lbs. She is in the 50th percentile for her head, weight, & height. Our baby is just perfect! She still doesn't have any teeth, however Dr. Vickie said that she is starting to feel them. They are on the way! She is still not crawling but we think that it will happen within the next couple of months.

So Momma...what's our plans for today? Well I am going to start the day by quiting my job then we'll go swimming! Yes...that's right. I quit my job at Walgreens today. I accepted a job with Target pharmacy last week, so I turned in my 2 week resignation. I have been interviewing with Target for over a month now. It has been a very long process. I had 4 interviews & an extremely interesting online test. I am very excited. With Target I will be working 12 hour days so I will be working 7 out of 14 days vs. 10 out of 14 days. That's 3 more days off per 2 week period. That equates to 78 MORE days off per year than with Walgreens! That's a HUGE difference. Imagine 78 more days with my baby & never again having to work on Christmas, Thanksgiving, or Easter again! Also Target has NO DRIVE-THUR! And not to mention that Target is one of my favorite stores! I will get 10% off + my 10% shopping coupons!!! One of the negatives about Target is that I will have to wear Red & Khaki EVERYDAY. Everyone knows that I love to shop. I guess I will just have to learn how to accessorize better! I will be floating around for about a month then I will be working at the Woodstock SuperTarget which is about 15 minutes from our house. After I quit my job.....we went swimming again. Maddie had such a good time. We swam for about an hour. The water felt incredible. We are leaving to go home tomorrow. It's been a fun trip. The blogs will start slowing down again. Take care.

I have been practicing with my camera. I tried to take pictures like our photographer, Griffin. Unfortunately mine are not as good, but I am getting better!

Meet Baby Maddie

Grammie & Grandpie had a party to introduce Maddie to their Savannah friends. She had such a good time. She met her new little friends, Cam & Sean. They are 3 weeks older than Maddie. they all played together like old pals. Cam & Sean crawled around on the floor & Maddie just watched in amazement.

Waters Family Reunion

Today we went to Statesboro for the Waters/Edenfield family reunion. It was held outside at the Edenfield barn. We had a great time seeing everyone. Maddie was a hit too. Most of the family had not seen her since Tom's retirement party when she was 8 weeks old. She had a BAD spit-up day so she got to sport 4 different outfits. It would not have been so bad if I would have given her light colored foods, such as bananas or applesauce or even pears. But I decided (brilliantly- - remember now I do have a doctor of pharmacy degree) to give her sweet potatoes & she was wearing a white shirt. Maddie loved listening to her great Uncle David & Glen play the guitar & sing. She napped twice while we were there then on the way home cried the ENTIRE time. I had finished feeding her about 30 minutes prior to leaving so I thought surely she was not hungry. I figured that it was her gums or gas pains. We arrived home & I gave her tylenol & gas drops, trying to cover all of my basis. I then gave her a bath since she had been outside all day long. She still screamed. Mom made her a bottle & sure enough she was hungry. She must have been having a growing spurt today. After her bottle she passed right out. Like I always say.....she's my little trooper!
